Villa Petrobelli: A Historic Gem for Your Dream Wedding
History and Architecture
Villa Petrobelli is a 17th-century Venetian villa located in Maserà di Padova, about 14 km from Padua and close to Abano Terme. Built by the Petrobelli Counts as a summer residence, the villa is near the medieval village of Ca’ Murà, dating back to 1034, which retains all its historical charm.
The villa’s structure is typically Venetian: a square layout, two floors, attics, and two symmetrical facades. Inside, a spacious central hall is flanked by four lateral rooms. On the ground floor, the hall features a painting of the Petrobelli family crest. The hall on the first floor opens to a large window with a stone balustrade and the noble family’s coat of arms at its center.
On either side of the villa are two two-story barns, originally used for agricultural purposes: hay and grain storage, stables for cattle and horses, wine cellars, and carriage houses.
Gardens and Landscapes
The front garden, rear park, orchard, and surrounding woodland are designed in a vaguely romantic style, hosting hundreds of floral species as well as rare and monumental trees. These green spaces are meticulously maintained by Count Sergio Chiesa Petrobelli, a former curator of the Herbarium at the Botanical Garden of Padua.
Thanks to the beauty of its landscape and the quality of its green spaces, Villa Petrobelli was selected for the prestigious national competition “Italy’s Most Beautiful Park,” organized by the Ministries of Agriculture and Tourism and the Italian Environmental Fund (FAI).
A Venue for Weddings and Events
Today, Villa Petrobelli is a sought-after location for weddings and events, celebrated for its historic atmosphere and the natural beauty that surrounds it. The villa offers both indoor and outdoor spaces for receptions, elegant catering services, and the ability to host up to 130 guests.
